Excellent, very personable, efficient service. Stunning location. We hired a 2 person canoe. No restriction on timing and just 15€ for as long as we wanted. Great equipment in an ideal location for unwinding and connecting with nature. We saw a pair of kingfishers, lots of tiny fish in the water, and a heron showed us the way upstream! Delightful patches of shade at the side of this calm river to pause awhile. Also some giggles as we got used to paddling. We also bought some ice creams on our return. Very reachable by bike from Saumur. (NB follow Pays de Loire route 10 – much easier than the route Google maps took us, though that was beautiful, it also involved a broken bridge which we had to navigate around by going through the edge of fields of crops where there were nettles!! Tim advised us to follow the route signs back and that was MUCH easier!)
