Boating on any water is never without risk.  We have rules that help to minimise the risks, but ultimately once you set-off you are on your own and are responsible for your own safety.  Rest-assured the Thouet is known as “The Tranquil River” because it is very calm.  In normal circumstances you are not going to encounter any danger – indeed this part of the Thouet is much safer than the Loire.  We will brief you on any potential issues before you set-off.

The most likely exposure to a risk is going to be your own irresponsible behaviour.
